The breeder behind Serious Seeds, Simon, studied biology and was even a biology teacher for some time. But his true talents were in developing our favourite plant. After collecting seeds from all over the world for his private collection he put his curiosity to practical use. After a stint at Sensi Seeds Simon started a new seed bank with two Americans. Some high profile awards later he started on his own under the name Serious Seeds in 1995. As so many seed banks he supplied Amsterdam coffeeshops like Greenhouse and De Dampkring with his new creations to test them out on the adventurous and critical users. Eventually, international recognition would arrive with a number of first prizes like the Expogrow Cup 2016 winner in the category Best Seedbank. Serious Seeds AK-47 was the 2004 High Times Magazine Strain of the year, Kali Mist won the 2000 High Times Cannabis Cup, category: Sativa Cup and White Russian won the 1996 High Times Cannabis Cup, category: Bio Cup.
