World Ayahuasca Conference 2014
But the world is scared of entheogenics, of losing control. The therapeutic benefits of ayahuasca are largely ignored by governments and scientists, because psychedelics are unfortunately considered a threat and many would rather ban their use than research the possibilities. The unclear legal status doesn't help. Countries that allow the use of ayahuasca usually only permit this when taken in religious context. The world at large knows very little about the wonders of this potion from the Amazon.
The World Ayahuasca Conference, organized by the ICEERS Foundation, aims to bring attention to this very problem and other topics related to ayahuasca. From 25 to 27 September in sunny Ibiza, Spain, the conference brings together leading scientists, legal experts, practitioners. environmentalists and other experts involved in the ayahuasca field, facilitating the interchange of experience and knowledge. Over 100 international speakers are scheduled to appear.
The 3-day program consists of workshops, debates, social events and the Ayahuasca Film Forum, which will show more than twenty full length documentary films on ayahuasca. The conference will take place in the Palau de Congressos of Ibiza. For address information, tickets and additional details on the conference, visit www.aya2014.com.
