A review of the MagicalButter Machine (MB2e)

“Technology is supposed to make our lives easier, allowing us to do things more quickly and efficiently.” - James Surowiecki (American journalist)

The above quote may sound obvious, but let’s be honest, when it comes to consumer appliances, this isn’t always the case. How many (kitchen) appliances do you have collecting dust in a closet? Relegated to the realm of the forgotten because they don’t work as advertised, are too complicated to operate or just a one-trick-pony, these devices usually end up disappointing us.

Luckily, this is not the case with the MagicalButter Machine (MB2e). It does all it says on the box and with such gracious ease that makes you want to use it all the time.

And therein lies the catch; The MB2e is made for quantity, as well as quality.

The MagicalButter Machine is for frequent edible consumers

You see, if you enjoy an infused pastry or salade dressing only two or three times a year, the MB2e is not for you. Buying a MagicalButter Machine only pays off if you consume infused delights on a frequent base or cook for a large crowd often.

Even if you fill the MB2e with the bare minimum of ingredients, you will still wind up with a whole lot of cannabutter or infused oil. In the case of cannabutter, that minimum end product is, give or take, 400 grams. That is enough for at least 3 to 4 batches of Space Brownies (+/- 8 to 12 pieces per batch) or a huge infused triple chocolate cake that can serve up to five or six people.

These yields, if properly stored, will last you a long time if you are only a light consumer of edibles.

The easiest way to infuse cooking ingredients with psychoactive substances

However, if you do consume edibles in large quantities, the MB2e may change your life for good, and the better. With only a minimum of extra utensils or fuzz, the MagicalButter Machine selects the right temperature, stirs, chops, grinds, and times the entire process automatically. It’s literally a “switch-on-and-forget” situation. There is a button on the device for every type of material you want to infuse, so there are no complicated settings for you to remember or mess up. It is all pre-programmed, and once the MB2e has run through its paces, it will let you know it’s done by treating you to an excellent light show and a beep or two.

The result of this small amount of effort on your part is always perfect infused material, ready to be used in hundreds, nay thousands of recipes.

What kind of recipes can I make with the MagicalButter Machine?

The number of recipes you can make with whatever you infuse is endless. Infusing butter or coconut oil for baking is an obvious one. But, consider olive, grapeseed, sunflower, almond, walnut, sesame, avocado or macadamia oil, and you’ll have a plethora of options to spice up your favourite evening meal. Or, better yet, treat your friends to a fancy dinner that will guarantee a memorable event they will be talking about for years to come.

But that’s not all. How about some Apple Cider Vinegar with an extra kick? Or a cannabis tincture? Or make highly concentrated cannabis oil. You can also infuse honey or sugar to sweeten up whatever you choose to make.

And if that isn’t enough, you can even make infused Gummies or topicals for home-made skincare products!

As I said, the possibilities are endless, and with a little creativity and experimenting, who knows what new applications you will come up with? And if you don’t feel like experimenting, just open up the included cookbook or head over to the MagicalButter site for even more recipes.

Cleaning the MagicalButter Machine

The drawback of making infused butter or oils the conventional way is that you are always stuck with a lot of cleaning up afterwards. Strainers, pots, pans, cheesecloths, spatulas and other tools like a mixer will all need to be cleaned once you are done.

That’s another reason to buy the MagicalButter Machine, is that it eliminates the need for extra pots and pans. Other than with butter - which you will need to melt and clarify before you chuck it into the MB2e - all the ingredients go immediately into the pitcher of the machine.

Besides that, the MB2e itself is super easy to clean. Due to the high-quality stainless steel used to make the pitcher and the built-in mixer, all leftover material rinses off with ease. The same goes for the PurityFilter™, and the LoveGlove™ used to strain your infused material.

Once you have rinsed off the leftovers, the MB2e pretty much cleans itself with the “Car-Wash Clean Function”. Just fill the pitcher halfway with water and some dish soap and hit the clean-button — Bob’s your uncle.

Should I buy the MagicalButter Machine or not?

Like I say at the beginning of this review; if you consume infused pastries or cook with infused oils on a regular base, then buying the MB2e is almost a no-brainer. The amount of time and effort it saves you in the long run, more than justifies the initial cost, which isn’t even that high, to begin with.

As for me, my father-in-law just dropped off three pots of his home-made honey, who are begging to be spiced up with some of my own, freshly cured Bubba Kush, so I’ll go and fire up the MB2e for one more round.
