Myceliumbox cubensis
This myceliumbox contains mycelium from the Psilocybe cubensis mushroom. The mycelium has been developed on a rye-based substrate with a layer of vermiculite on top.

8 days after soaking, the first mushrooms appeared.
7 days later I harvested about 130g of fresh mushrooms.
I have just soaked the box again for the second flush.
The plucked mushrooms are drying between layers of toilet paper in an open shoebox. As an experiment I put some in an airtight container with a desiccant (bison air max) to see which method of drying works best.
I had placed the bag in a transparent plastic container (for storing clothes etc) to have an extra protection against contamination. I also put in a thermometer so I could keep the box between 20C and 25C. (During the night temp dropped to 16C sometimes.)
Every 2 or 3 days I sprayed some extra water in the bag to keep up the humidity.
For sterilising/cleaning my hands and tools I used denatured alcohol (=spiritus) which seemed to work fine.
I will definitely try and experiment some more with growing my own mushrooms!”

ich habe versuche gerade eine box, auch wenn ich selber einen guten grow-zyklus am laufen habe, intereessiert mich das ergebnis.
auf jeden fall ist der preis im vergleich zu den anschaffungskosten und dem verbunden aufwand beim selber growen mehr als OK!”

after filling it i found out that the filter on the lid has a 1mm long rip.
there must be another little rip in the box because i found water under it. after drying it water comes again.
Someone told me these are no problems and I should try to grow on.
What do you think? won't the harvest be unhealthy for me?

It would be very nice, if such a box was also available with the Panaeolus cyanescens, because they are even more potent in making the world around you go strange and colorful.

12Stunden warten, wasser auslehren, und danach in das mitgelieferte sackerl bei etwa 20 grad geschlossen an einen hellen ort damit! 5-10 Tage fertig!!! Kannst bis zu 10mal ernten, wenns gut läuft!!!!!!

This was my very first time cultivating mushrooms, so I was a bit worried I didn't have what it takes. How wrong I was! My first flush had about 60+ medium size mushrooms, and I ended up redoing the whole process about 6 times. The later flushes produced fewer mushrooms, but they got bigger and bigger! Some of the later flushes produced MASSIVE mushrooms, as big as 30 grams (fresh) and 25cm long! All in all, I got around 40-50 grams of DRIED mushrooms, which was a lot more than I was expecting it to be capable of. Though it was suggested to keep in a temperature of 20-25C, I found that 26-27 seemed to work even better. Since it was only maybe 17-20 in the room I kept this, I bought a small heater to assist it. When I realized the heater was adding too much to our electric bill, I got the brilliant idea of just putting the grow kit about half a meter behind the exhaust of my Xbox 360, which worked brilliantly! Finally, a useful purpose to the blasted Xbox's overheating!”
