Leonotis leonurus

Also known as wild dagga ('wild cannabis') and lion's tail. Wild dagga leaves were smoked by the Hottentot tribe of southern Africa because of its euphoric effect. It grows mainly in southern and eastern Africa. The main active alkaloid is leonurine.

In traditional African medicine Leonotis has been widely used as a part of many different treats. It is also used in case of a snake bite and as a charm to keep snakes away.
Effects
Calming, Sedating. Slightly Euphoric.
Usage
Use as tea. For a stronger effect the flowers of lion's tail can be smoked.
Warning
One should use wild dagga with caution. It has shown to be habit forming similar to tobacco.

“I ordered a bunch of herbs from here which arrived yesterday, and in the night/morning I decided to try out the LL-flowers.
Even though it seems people don't like the smoke, I didn't really feel like drinking tea at the time, so I mixed up the flowers with a little Damiana (wich seems to work at a non-documented way on me, being an autist and all) and rolled it up.
Now I think it was a little stupid of me to mix with Damiana, since I really couldn't figure out wich herb did what.
Anyway, my anxiety problems (who before I smoked literally ached in my chest) were all gone within ten minutes, and I felt very at ease with everything.
I really liked this. Thanks!”

“tried it this afternoon, first made a tea out of it, drank about half a litre, no effect at all except a little dizziness; so then smoked a joint, half tobacco, half wild dagga. this was great! I got a mj high, this stuff really works! I was with a friend and we laughed, played music and even discovered some new notes in our voices while singing :)”

“hi guys,
like promesed, I checked the tea. AWESOME, IT WORKS :) close to space-cake sensation, but slightly clearer mind, and less stoned feeling. but also warm and relaxed feeling. so PLEASE DO NOT WASTE IT BY SMOKING IT.
for the tea i did it this way:
-I emptied a normal teabag and but 3 theespoons wild dagga in it (for one liter boiling water)
-let it stand for several hours (till water was completely cooled down) -I took the teabag out, and put it in like 2 cl of high degree of alcohol (vodka 55°),again let it stand for a while.
-now get the tea bag out of the alcohol (throw it away) and poor the alcohol in the tea. (you now have like 1% alcohol in your tea, you wont even taste it, but the alcohol took some extra alkaloïds out, that the water did not).
-warm it up, add a little of sugar, and there you go!
(I think the alcohol part is not necesary, but whatever)
the effects come up rather quickly but don't last that long. max 2 hours, depending of how much you drunk.
have fun ;)”
