Ayahuasca

The Santo Daime Church is known for using of Ayahuasca during their ritual ceremonies. Ayahuasca is a strong psychoactive substance.

There is no specific recipe to make the brew, but important is the mixture of two very different plant species. One plant has to contain MAO-inhibitor, the other DMT.

It is significant to note that neither one of these plant substances by itself is normally psychoactive in oral doses. (Harmine/harmaline is said to be hallucinogenic at highly toxic levels, but in less heroic quantities it is at best a tranquilizer, at worst an emetic.)

DMT, in any quantity, is not orally active unless used in combination with a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor. This principle is precisely what makes ayahuasca effective; producing what has been described as one of the most profound of all psychedelic experiences. When you are really searching for answers, want to get to know yourself a little bit better and you will not 'run away' for your fears during the trip, you will entrance new areas. During the trip you will experience different levels of imagination. The colors you will see are mainly blue, green, red, yellow and gold. You will be confronted with all kinds of things: dragons, snakes and freaky monsters, but you will also experience a magnificent beauty.
