Kajuyali Tsamani - Ayahuasca Tour 2006

Kajuyali Tsamani from Colombia is from two worlds, the academic and the native Amazonian shamanic world. With a Ph. D in anthropology, he was initiated to plant shamanism in the Amazonian jungle in 1978.

Ayahuasca shamans sing icaros half the duration of a ceremony with patients that require healing. These icaros are spiritual songs of cosmic origin, derived from stars and ancestral spirits and such. Based on the repitition of a basic theme gradually transforming over time, icaros are an essential part of the ayahuasca experience and keep the atmosphere suitable for a deep voyage with powerful culminations and transformations.
Unfortunately not everyone can always go visit a Jaguar shaman such as Kajuyali Tsamani. We are lucky, however, that his beautiful voice and astral melodies have been recorded various times. The latest CD contains over 70 minutes of soothing, guiding, healing icaros and percussion playing, in the ancient shamanistic tradition of Amazonian plant shamanism. Some songs even include a steeldrum like instrument of Swiss origin of which the first one was produced in 2001 and the last in 2006: the hang.
The recordings were made in 2006, during Kajuyali's travels and ceremonies in Colombia. Highly recommended for anyone interested in shamanism and those who seek the right musical accompaniment for a deep entheogenic experience, especially ayahuasca.

“I saw, few days ago, Tsamani in Basel, Switzerland, during the Psychedelic Forum that honoured the 102 years old of Albert Hoffman, the scientist that "discovered" LSD in 1938, still alive and in good health. Kajuyali has a real interesting voice and also a great political goal for himself and his work as transcultural shaman. We heard a little song from him, during that amazing four-days conference, and it has been an important experience to sit and and hear from his voice all the efforts him and others are doing to rescue ancient "tribal" knowledge traditions, the Kogi, first... Hope he will be able to achieve his ethical and practical goals and hope he will let some healing/shamanic songs to us and for the people that will come after us. I hope will have people that learn from him, overall...
Good luck Kajuyali...!”
